Hi I use coloured popsticks, they enjoy sorting colours into small buckets. Its very engaging.

This is good activity for late stage dementia. Also you can use your colorful bingo chips. Before the Bingo game I ask the residents to sort there chips by colors - But be carefully for residents putting them in their mouth mistaking them for cookies.
I use poker chips (toy) red white and blue and add buttons of all sizes and ask resident to sort out the buttons, those who sort these get a real sense of achievement.
