My activities are person centered. A lady came to the home and her interest was teddy bears, I stratched my head quite a bit, collected 'teddies' from willing residents and made a display in the lounge of a 'teddy bears' picnic. After that I was baffled again until I found pre-made teddies that only needed to be 'stuffed' (build a bear style). She really enjoyed that, made friends with the lady sitting next to her and the new friend assisted. The two new teddies she made sit on her bed now. Where to next, any ideas? I have another new lady creating a scrap book of cats, everyone is on the lookout for cat pictures for her. Once she has completed the scrap book she may keep it herself or it will be handed around for other residents to browse through. It takes imagination, research for products suitable and a small budget but it is very rewarding.
