I have to do an in service at my company for next month. I want to make it fun and right to the point, about why activities are so important to our residents. Got any ideas?
HI Candace, talk to your residents and ask them why activities are so important to them and what they would like to see happen. I'm sure you will find many of them will assist you with your in service and it will make them feel as though their feedback is wanted and valued..
You can tell your audience that any encounter is an activity and Most surveyors think that everyone is responsible for doing activities not group activities but socializing with the residents I do not know where you live so I can not speak to yearly inspections or if you even have them I wrote anI article about optimal activities which might be helpful I'm not sure when that's going to be published however What type of resident are in your facility? I have done many in services so let me think about it some more Thanks Susan
I just LOVE the multicultural section of this fabulous website. I work as a Activities Director at a day service facility and we are currently closed due to COVID! I am mailing/delivering personalized packages to our clients. We have clients of many different cultures and ethnic backgrounds. Adding pages of color-printed information from their country really brightens their day. The family members/care givers are delighted to see a spark in their loved ones eyes when they see and read about their history. I am becoming so educated myself learning all this. It will help me when we get back to work striking a spark in our clients eye when I reminisce with them about their culture. I seriously can NOT get enough of this fantastic site. xoxo :-)
