I really love your website. I still find it incredulous that this site exists. I know how hard it must be for our Lifestyle teams to keep coming up with ideas and activities and to now have found this site - WOW. I really do think it says a lot about the immense value of community collaboration - because this site is about that! so I am immensely proud that people, especially older people, may be benefitting from this wonderful resource all over the world.

We are a High Care Facility and would like to implement a "Happy Hour Program". Could anyone please give me some advice how to implement this. Thanking you in advance
Hi Jeni, there is a thread here that may be of interest:

We have this activity and it is popular with our residents. We set up tables in our activity centre so residents can interact freely. If your facility allows alcohol we serve wine, beer and one resident supplies her own rum, of course there is a limit.. we also serve soft drink and punch. Food is kept to light finger food, chips sandwiches etc. Music is also provided but this can be a balancing act as some like to hear it and some find it distracting. Occasionally we have a person come in to play the piano. Make it fun, have some quiz or trivia items on hand and celebrate any birthdays that may have fallen recently.
What Kim said. We do a social hour every day at 230pm. We serve drinks (alcohol and non) along with a lite finger food snack. Some days it's just a social where we get the residents visiting and talking. Other times we have a theme and do trivia or word games - Word in a Word for example. Or Scattegories and Categories. Some times we have an entertainer come perform. It's a great way to get residents introduced to each other and just interact with other people.
