Hi everyone,
Does anyone know the name of any exercise DVD's for seniors, mainly wheelchair and princess chair bound. (chair exercises) I have the golden carers chair exercises and another seated DVD (walking up the mountain) need something to get them motivated.
Thanks
Donna
Hi Donna, here are a couple of fun ones I've used in the past:
Bedridden or Wheelchair Stretches and Exercises DVD
Sit and Be Fit [DVD]
Chair Dancing Through the Decades DVD
Chair Aerobics Chair Bellydance Low Impact Workout Seated Belly Dance DVD
Stronger Seniors Chair Exercise Program - Core Fitness DVD
There are also some great chair aerobics available on YouTube. I have created for our use a playlist on YouTube. we just rotate between videos from week to week to keep it fun!
We do seated exercise most days and I convert my daily exercises to suit the residents. We use stretchy bands' ,form of simon says, seated marching.(this is a lot of fun as they mixup their arms.) We all have fun and have found they prefer to watch me than a dvd.
SitDance is what my lifestyle supervisor uses (I'm on placement right now). I have bought the Smile and Sway DVD, which looks very good, but I haven't actually seen it yet!

I use You Tube - a couple favorites are Jackie Talley armchair exercises, Sherry Zak Yoga programs, and Yes2Next work out videos.
