I just transferred from being a CNA to Therapeutic Recreation. I am a Pinterest queen but needed new ideas. Thank you so much, this has helped me plan May's calendar with ease. Well worth the money and I can use the pictures to make new concentration games that my residents enjoy. Again thanks so much and I will be able to add some games myself

I am a brand new activity director at a brand new facility opening next month! I am so over the moon excited! One of the things that I'd like to plan is a shadow box event for the residents in the memory unit. Each of their apartments has built in recessed shadow boxes next to the entrance to their units. I'd like to have family and residents work together in a group setting with supplies etc. to create their entry box creations. My idea is to invite them to bring photos, mementos, etc... do you have any direction, ideas, photos, experiences you could share? Thank you so much! I am thrilled to have found this fantastic resource!
Hi Brinn, excellent idea for a group activity. Apart from photos and mementos, you could inspire them to do themed activities with Christmas coming up. Check these couple of links for ideas.https://www.goldencarers.com/mixed-media-collages-for-the-elderly/4715/

Congratulations on your new role
Hi Brian, congratulations! I love that you are already planning to involve the family in your activities, it's so important! Looking at photos and memorabilia of the residents is a personal favorite and I wrote out an activity we've done on our unit https://www.goldencarers.com/reminiscing-how-to-create-a-memory-board/5484/. Again, congrats!
