Does anyone do small club groups( I know social distancing with the groups) and your regular activities each day? If you do, how do you plan the times? Example cooking club during the day with your 2 regular group activities also the same day. I am trying to plan more activities now with the covid. I will have extra help starting next month and need some ideas of how to add this.
Here are some clubs suggested on Golden Carers https://www.goldencarers.com/search/#stq=clubs&stp=1 Of course you may have to modify the spacing of the residents due to cOVID-19 It is great that you’re going to have an extra person to help you with activities Do you have a group of residents who like to do something special Perhaps you can plan a group with them Another idea is to have impromptu activities because residents interests change from day to day so you may want to take that into consideration Do you have some residents with dementia they might benefit from this extra person on staff??
Hi Pam, I'm not sure if this will help you at all but I will share my program with you. AM we do a group session of armchair exercise (different people attend each day so social distancing not a problem). PM, straight after lunch, in the lounge tea coffee chat, 2PM group activity Monday Memory Club (Reminiscing), Tue Bingo, Wed craft/gardening, Thur Musical Bingo, Friday Movie/DVD in our pub area. From 4- 5:30 i'm in the lounge and may have a few people playing dominoes, listening to music or watching you tube (with tablets & headsets) doing jigsaw puzzles, knitting or winding/tidying wool etc, rummage baskets, sorting laundry, pairing socks etc, looking at magazines etc. As it is all taking place in the lounge I can keep them going with the support of 1 or 2 carers.
