Hi, I have been sending out paper based activity packs to our community clients, am now up to pack number 4, in the past I have sent out the paper base quilt pattern, and a small chocolate for each person (not allowed to send any food in future as not every client has had a "nutritional assessment ") does anyone else have any ideas to send something a little different, thought about sending a list of questions for each client to answer and to send back to me, like " what is the most rewarding thing about getting older, if you could go back to any age what would it be and why". would love to have any ideas about doing something different for our clients. thanks
Recipes are always good, also asking client/residents what their favorite recipes were/are I am sure there would be some interesting old recipes they loved to cook "back in the days"
I like to think about music I like this activity that Gwyneth suggested https://www.goldencarers.com/finish-the-song-line-quiz/6549/ You could print this out and send it also look at my idea about changing the lyrics and see what the residents can come up with
You could have a project about life story work were residents work on a particular part of their life every issue with collage, as a quiz, as word association... Related to the recipe idea you could ask them about songs they like and make a songbook too.
As I'm new at coordinating activities for seniors with dementia, you have given a lot of ideas that I am using and plan on using. Golden Carers is one of its kind. Thank you
