Thank you so much for such an awesome resource and to everyone for sharing their ideas. It takes the pressure off and allows more time to be spent with the ones we are caring for who after all need our time more than anything else. I am looking forward to reading as much as I can get my hands on and finding ways to improve the lives of our valuable community members and bring some sunshine in. Much appreciated :)

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could have fun with a black Friday event? I'm thinking of perhaps having different items for everyone to wrap, talking about department stores that are no longer, hottest toy for Christmas through the years, and the Sears catalog. But, this needs to last a couple of hours and I am stumped.
Hi Julie
I think you have some good ideas
You may want to add singing Christmas carols putting everyone in the mood for Christmas
You could also add making Christmas cards
You could make some Christmas treats
You could make decorations. Or make their own wrapping paper to use
Here is a link to Christmas toys of the past

They could just color Christmas pictures

If you need more ideas let me know
Hi Julie, you certainly have lots of good ideas. You may add "Best Scary Books" they read as children. Then go to the movies, which movies they were really scared of?
I was just thinking about Black Friday, and what to do!!! I am going to pass out fake dollars( maybe have them earn them) then I thought it would be fun to set up a little store table, with a sign that says Black Friday sale! I will get small bags of cookies, crackers, fruit snacks, candy bars, Kleenex, etc. I am lead recreation person in a Memory Care assisted living, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Wow Vicki
This sounds like a great idea
Let us know how it turns out
Maybe you can send this picture as well
