Hi, we have an intergenerational program with a local daycare but due to lockdowns we have been unable to have them visit or us visit them. I am looking for suggestions of things we could do while we can't have visits to keep our bond alive. Thanks in advance.

Hi Cathy

it is so nice that you had that connection

Three things come to mind

Letters with pictures

A teleconference with their pictures being shown as you speak

Some kind of video conference depending on the technology either is zoom conference or FaceTime or Facebook

It is likely that the children will be able to draw pictures and make cards to send to the residents

HI Cathy, we have been doing them 'virtually' over Zoom, it seems to work well.

Hi Cathy, could you do a Hall Singalong? Residents would sit at the door of their bedrooms in the Hallway and sing together with you as a leader. Music is a quintessential activity for everyone and especially for people in care. It can bring so much joy and promotes good feelings. Keep safe.
