Hello. If I was to organise a day trip to the movies with a personal carer, what arrangements would i need to make regarding insurance? They would be travelling by suitable taxi, and i would make sure the cinema can cater for people with physical disability. Thank you
Hi Kimberly, Your facility most likely has insurance to cover residents, staff and volunteers (personal carers). Written consent for community outings is usually obtained from residents on the first week of arrival. If they are unable to provide it, their relatives will. Check with your manager for the policies your facility has in place.
Hi does anyone have a consent form/indemnity form/medical form etc for clients to complete prior to day trips out. we run a befriending service for people in the community (so not residential) and wondered if anyone can share their forms. i would be eternally grateful! thanks in advance Nicky
Once again Golden Carers has come to the rescue. I live in a retirement village and calling on my years as a Diversional Therapist I constantly use the Golden Carers for new ideas to run my group in the village. I especially love the Read Aloud Audience Participation activity and I always pick a very shy resident to take a part. It is amazing how much it brings them out of their shell. The quiz always helps keeps their minds active and gives them such a feeling of self worth when they get a correct answer.
