Good afternoon, I am a director of memory care for a long term company and I oversee 13 different units. We have a VA contracted building and I am struggling a little bit with some of the veterans who have PTSD. Does anyone have any suggestions for different things that work well for residents with PTSD? Thank you in advance Gretchen Pace
Gretchen Residents with PTSD can be hard to engage in activities because you never know what might trigger an episode and you certainly don’t want them to harm themselves or others Each person is different and their experiences are different I would talk to the staff there and see if they know of anything that these people like to do I like activities with food or music but that may or may not work Trial and error might be our best bet Let us know what you come up with Thanks
