Hello to all you amazing GC members
Just wanted to gain feedback on your thoughts about the current trend in Age Care. I have been working in this space for nearly 15 years, and I am struggling to maintain my usual positive, can do attitude to engage our Clients. As we all know, the benefit lifestyle programs and activities provide our Clients in so many positive ways is currently being pushed aside due to organizational penny pinching and focus on money rather than Client needs also care. It appears the Age Care standards that promote, I quote "supports for daily living that are important for my health and well-being and that enable me to do the things I want to do" seem to have been forgotten. Is anyone else struggling with this currently? Are we able to share stories and experiences, in hope of finding some inspiration and solutions on how to make things better?. I just find it so sad that the people making these decisions on how we care for our Clients today, will be our clients in the future, would they not expect better?
Love to hear from you
Rob

Hi Rob
I do not live in Australia, and I am retired from Health Care now
But I do see changes in the healthcare system
You could work on making the healthcare system better, but that would take away from your clients
Seems like you really care
So I would say, do the best you can with what you have, and realize that some things are out of your control
Perhaps you can get someone to volunteer such as family members
Perhaps you can I get items donated

Thanks Susan
Appreciate your kind words. Sorry, don't wish to appear negative, just frustrated
