I work in a long-term care facility where we have a significant amount of young adults. I work on a unit where my youngest resident is 43 and my oldest is 107. In talking with some of them, I realized that they yearn for a connection with people their age. Does anyone have any suggestions on program ideas targeted specifically with them in mind? I want to start a group specifically for our younger residents so they can feel a connection with their peers.
Hi Freya This is a tough group to get engaged I have always found food to be a great motivator Here are some ideas that you might have to modify a bit https://www.goldencarers.com/activities-for-the-baby-boomer-generation-/4422/ Don’t forget to ask them what they would like to do and perhaps you can modify things he used to do Sometimes I called the group sponsored by younger residents because they didn’t come. I had that open the group up to everyone.
So glad I found you, your site is such a blessing to me 😊. I have been a PCA for 17 yrs. I am in charge of making up the monthly calendar and coming up with new ideas. It was starting to be a real challenge. I encourage all my residents to join in daily but they need new things offered to hold their interest. So glad I took a chance and signed up with you!!! You're making my job a lot easier. Thank you and keep up the great work !! It's so appreciated.
