We had a PJ day where staff and elders were invited to wear PJs and come to a special morning tea with hot chocolate and marshmallows and special biscuits for a change. Elders enjoyed seeing staff out of uniform and having some fun with teddy bears. etc.
We have had a dress-up day for PJ day as well. Depending on your residents you could; have a bedtime story hour and read the old classic fairytales; Play games but modify them to the theme eg: pin the night cap on the Wee Will Winky. Watch the DVD movie "the Pyjama Game". Have a reminiscing time about bedtime routine when they were a child , clothing, rituals, beds and bedding etc past and present, print off pictures from the net to show. Talk about dreams and dream meanings. If you have crafty residents make felt slippers ( patterns on the net). Have fun!
We held a pj day on 1st of sept for start of spring and had all staff and residents in pjs join in dining room for. Cooked breakfast residents loved it
I have been in this field for close to 15 years. I came across your website initially because I was searching for a shared, personal forum with other professionals in my field that was not attached to random advertising and monthly fees. After discovering your website which hosted a forum that was exactly what I was looking for, as well as providing a mountain of resources that didn’t require you to follow several external links to get to, and to top it off no monthly recurring fee...Jackpot!
