I need to purchase a fiddle blanket and some other items, for our cognitive impaired residents
Has anyone got any ideas or names of good suppliers? Remembering I have a budget.

thanks

Hi Jill,

These fiddle blankets do seem to be quite pricey, don't they!
If making your own is an option, we have a pinterest board with lots of photos which could give you some ideas. https://www.pinterest.com/goldencarers/fiddle-blankets-fidget-quilts/

Hi Jill,
They are very expensive, but you can find a person who can sew with a machine and ask to help.
Suggestions:
1. Choose a strong bright coloured material, to cope and need to be washed regularly ,too.
2. Zips, buckles, buttons all in larger size and colours
3. Large beads on strings
4. different materials
5. packets with buttons & buttonholes
For ideas just search on the internet and you can find a lot of great ideas.
Good luck

Hi Jill,
We have made fiddle blankets for the long stay hospital where i work, using a polar fleece blanket as they are soft and cozy, sew on small soft toys, patches of colourful materials of different textures, a lavender bag, little bells sewn securely .
Best of luck

So many different ways of naming and searching for these fiddle blankets - I just came across a relevant activity submitted by one of our members:
