Once again Golden Carers has come to the rescue. I live in a retirement village and calling on my years as a Diversional Therapist I constantly use the Golden Carers for new ideas to run my group in the village. I especially love the Read Aloud Audience Participation activity and I always pick a very shy resident to take a part. It is amazing how much it brings them out of their shell. The quiz always helps keeps their minds active and gives them such a feeling of self worth when they get a correct answer.

Hi
I work in a small country town with a close knit community. After a recent incident I wonder if anyone has suggestions on how to discuss end of life plans with clients and families and how to indicate clearly on their file if they have a DNR?
Hi Alison,
in my experience the DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) is usually stated in the “Resident’s Profile” which is filled in by the resident or his/her family on arrival. It may also contain other plans for the end of life such as preferred Funeral Company, religious rites, ACP (Advance care Planning), and other related issues.
