You're quite the special angel here to assist everyone. It takes a special kind of person to deal with seniors - they are not given the respect or credit they so deserve to have lasted this long on this earth. To have witnessed such history is amazing. So many are forgotten about and I try everyday to share RAOKs (Random Acts of Kindness) with any person I see that could use it - thank you again for the great ideas which I hope to spread around the area to help make others know how special they are.

Good morning, would anyone have the dimensions for fiddle mats. We would like to make some here for our residents.
Cheers and thanks Verna
Hi Verna. the fiddle mats I have seen and used are lap blanket size or smaller. The best ones I found were those that draped over the arms of a chair, it kept the mat basically infront of the person. Those that can sit without a wheel chair, I put the mat onto a table and sat them there. Some of the nurses made ours, the possibilities are endless, especially if you have a quilter or crafty person in your midst who has a good imagination. Good luck.
Thanks Donna much appreciated.
Cheers and thanks Verna
I used old pillowcases. They can be pulled onto the basic overway table or just on a lap.
Ah that is a great idea Cathy to use a pillow slip or similar to fit over a tray table for residents who are in gel chairs. I am going to look into that.
Cheers
what are the best things to put on a fiddle mat or blanket I have seen many but not actually sat and watched the residents for any length of time to see what is the best design for them
