hi anita im sorry this is a bit late but maybe you could use it next time what I did is we made a memory tree with some branches from a tree put it in a planter or big pot then we made some poppies from card felt and one lady crochet some then we had a good old chat about the war and their memories and if they wanted to they could attach a note to their poppy and then put it on the tree on the day we put the tree in the middle of the room while watching it on the tele this went down very well
the way I do is to get all the abled bodies doing something in the morning then in the after noon between two and three thirty I make sure I have been and seen every one I play dominoes with one the best of three games I read the paper with one and just have a chat with others or even just to comb their hair I think it just getting them into a routine good luck
you could try French cricket you get them to stand or sit in a circle with one person in the middle using plastic bat sponge ball the aim of the game is giving everyone in the circle a turn on bowling but trying to get the legs of the person in the middle three strikes on the legs your out also you can be caught out
Thank you so much for allowing us to share all the wonderful ideas that are on Golden Carers. It is so helpful, inspiring and they give our residents so much fun and the feeling of achievement once we have completed them. It is great that we can spread the days out and do a lot over time rather than in one session. THANK YOU ALL
