Thank you, I have recently been discussing feeling burnt out and needing time out from DT pressures. I try to maintain free time on weekends and find it hard throughout the day so will put into practice some of your suggestions see how it works out!!!
I have found some great ideas from your site it is extrememly helpful. Diversional therapist have to think on their feet a lot and be adaptive to situation this resource always provides quick options! I forward and print resources for the month ahead and find helpful when planning the Activty calendar!
Some great ideas thank you very much. Some ideas we are currently using but continue to have challenges with behaviour. Some days better than others. Looking into setting up an mens shed we do have tool box and instruments box. Cheers all!
Good afternoon Carers, I’m after some tips for activities for physical persons with aggressive behaviour! Any ideas or tips really welcome! Ex Surf life saver. Very active! Cheers Kim
Your site is so helpful, endless ideas and activities help me so much not just for Diversional work with elderly residents but with my grandchildren as well!!
We play this regularly, I make a new list of questions from household items, things in your bag, toolbox, car, office, kitchen appliances... you can make it endless fun... The residents love the challenge at happy hour. Divide tables as with trivia so others can help to make up teams. Have a volunteer, staff member or family members to help each table they love to get in on it too.
Great for a laugh and they really love the competitiveness!!!
Can you please send the link to fishing game recently posted, I had printed in black and white and would like to redo in colour? Many thanks I'm using many of your resources and residents are really getting into it!!
Find a meaningful activity they like, hard to know what to say without knowing the person. What would have interested them prior, discussing this you may find that building a rapport with clients can initiate their contribution because they just want to join you.
