Our care home has gone into Lock down, no visitors and no outtings and this week due to certain concerns the residents are being isolated in their rooms. We have 38 residents, the majority have dementia. I have been going from room to room distributing Magazines, crosswords, wordsearches and colouring to those that can do these activities but im struggling to think of what else to do with them, a few are happy to chat but others not. I'm currently the only Activities coordinator and i'm pregnant have been advised to keep a safe distance from residents which obviously restricts what i can do with them. Any ideas will be very welcome thanks in advance
Hi i am looking for any suggestions for an activity in construction/building.I have a gentleman with level 2 dementia in our care home who used to be a plumber and engineer and we would like to make his day more constructive as well as taking him back to his working years by doing an activity that involves building. If anyone can sugeest anything including tools but not the childrens plastic ones i would love to hear from you. Many thanks Tracie
Golden Carers is just wonderful. An amazing resource shared all over the world. I use Golden carers on a daily basis and added with Pinterest, it just makes my job that little bit easier on those days when inspiration doesn't come easy. I love that there is always something new every time I look.
