Hi, if you've been doing this for a while, perhaps you can give me some advice! I'd love to hear how you cover yourselves in terms of taking photographs of the children and the adults? The new GDPR is proving very challenging and I don't seem to be able to get a definitive solution?

Community Engagement Support Worker
Hi there, I have a dilemma & it's one that I'm NOT going to let beat me!! I completely 'get' that data needs protecting but I'm really struggling with the stuff surrounding the taking of photographs. I use photos all the time. I have signed consent forms from the residents to say they are happy for their pictures to be used for very specific purposes such as social media, marketing etc. However, I need to understand what I have to do about people who come into the setting and take shots of, for example, the children who come in weekly to do an intergenerational keep fit session. Their carers have signed to give permission for the children to have their photos taken, as do the residents. However, I'm thinking that we need another form from the residents and children's parents stating that they are happy for their photos to be used, for example, in our monthly newsletter or that of the childcare provider....am I making this too complicated? Can anyone help me with this please?

Community Engagement Support Worker
Hi guys from England! I need help and thought I'd ask if anyone has a solution to a challenging situation.
My role is that of community engagement support worker. I work for a charity who provides the care in an extra care facility & the building is managed by another charity which I'll refer to as the landlord.
Residents have asked for a bbq to be held on the top floor balcony which is a large horse shoe area. They have been told that it's not likely to happen as they are vulnerable adults, which I find difficult as not all residents are vulnerable & they would be able to hold a bbq on their own balconies. Any ideas how to approach this? Thank you so much in advance. Jo x
I cannot believe it has been a full year since I started using Golden Carers. I remember going back and forth mentally if I wanted to try something new or keep on paying for an older resource that we didn't use often and was much more expensive for the entire year. I'm so glad I chose to make the switch and now here I am renewing my membership for the 2nd year. This site is great! Keep up the good work
