HI Lydia! I'm a new Life Enrichment Coordinator looking for new ideas & activities for our residents in assisted living. I love the idea of exchanging postcards! St. Patrick's Day is in just a couple days but I would love to exchange regardless. We have several residents who rarely get mail and this would be such a delight for them. We could work on Easter cards? You can email me at [email protected]. (I've only been with the company a month and they don't have an email for me yet, so I just created an email to get started) I'm at Brookside Place in Redmond, OR. I also requested to join the Facebook group. So excited!
I am looking for ideas for a gentleman in our assisted living facility who has limited movement with his hands & feet. He sits in his wheelchair most of the day and just scoots himself up & down the hallways. His cognitive abilities are limited as well but his speech is good. I'm looking for activities that he can do throughout the day, that he can do himself, in between group activities. I want him to feel he has a purpose/place in our care, and right now I feel like he's lost and could use some direction to help put a spark back in his eye. I am new to this profession (1 month in). Thank you & I'm so glad I found this website, it has been so helpful thus far!
Thank you for your fantastic resources which I have utilised for some time now for the Golden Age Club which our church has run for almost 40 years. Thanks again, you provide a very valuable service which in the years to come will no doubt be more relevant as our population ages.
