Good morning! Something to think about for the upcoming Holiday Season. We have a huge gratitude tree out into the dining room for everyone to view. We have residents make a leaf of what they are thankful for. We have a gorgeous tree full of wonderful messages to other residents, family members, and staff. It is beautiful. An other thing we do. We do a Secret Santa at Christmas! We thought we would have about 5 ladies participate but ended with 28! We dressed as elves as we took the exchanged the secret gifts!! The residents just beamed with the joy of giving and receiving! We had a reveal Secret Santa luncheon, complete with Santa and his elves!! It really brought the spirit of giving to the community and provided a "family" atmosphere to the residents! We can't wait to do it again. We started a birthday luncheon event. It is for the person who is celebrating the birthday and one guest. We have a special luncheon with a lunch not on the menu, with a decadent chocolate dessert. We give a special treat bag for the birthday person and a treat for the guest. We decorate and have a special door prize for a resident. I read heart-felt birthday messages to each about how important they are to me. They love the special attention! We also sing to them at every chance!!
We are hosting a Camping Evening! We have a musician who will play camp music around the "fire". We are going to tell scary stories and will have a skit. We have made a badge for the residents and they have a hat to wear. We have promised no sleeping in a tent or mosquitoes, tho we have mossie decorations. We are excited
I absolutely love all the activities. I am a school counselor by profession and love the Brain Crunch type activities that are language based. We do a monthly group activity and I use many of your activities. But I was looking for some that are maths oriented. Any suggestions? I like to hit all areas of abilites Thanks
